Here is her answer:
“The foods you eat will have the greatest impact on your health and energy levels. If your diet is inadequate, synthetic vitamin supplements will have little, if any, positive impact on your health and energy. On the other hand, we know from recent scientific discoveries that many of our health problems are a result of the collection of harmful acids which lower the pH of our body. We also know that by increasing our body pH by eating the right alkaline-forming foods, we can restore much of our health and increase our energy levels very quickly.
Here are ways to improve your energy and alkalinity:
| 1 |
Stop age accelerators such as refined sugar, cola drinks and refined foods. If there is too much light beige and white on your plate, chances are you are not getting enough alkaline-forming foods. |
| 2 |
Add lots of color to your plate in the form of fresh fruits and vegetables. The dark green leafy vegetables are fantastic, especially kale, so add it to your diet. If you are someone who likes juicing, add it your juicer when making fresh apple or carrot juice. |
| 3 |
Drink a green drink. If you go to the health food store you can find a powdered green drink on the shelves—take your pick. These are organic vegetables that have been dried down to a powder so that the enzymes are intact and active. Depending on the drink you choose, one scoop can have the phyonutrient benefits of ten servings of fresh fruits and vegetables. Mix it in water, lemonade or peach iced tea if you want and add soluble fiber (such as Benefiber). You will feel an immediate surge of energy so start your day with it—especially before working out. |
| 4 |
Drink plenty of water! Add lemon or cucumber slices to increase the alkalinity. If you have difficulty drinking enough water, try drinking it in your prettiest crystal glass. It also helps to increase your water intake if you drink it at room temperature and start drinking it in the morning. If the more water you consume the thirstier you become, so don’t be concerned. It only means that your body needs the hydration. |
| 5 |
Take a probiotic supplement. The first line of defense in our bodies are the protective bacteria in our intestines. Probiotics detoxify harmful substances and prevent potentially harmful substances from being absorbed. In fact, studies have shown that babies supplemented with probiotics early on had fewer allergies and less asthma and atopic dermatitis. Additionally, due to the damage that antibiotics wreak on our bodies over the years, we all need our good bacteria replaced. |
| 6 |
Take your omega 3, 6 and 9s. These are of enormous benefit to our health and well being. They are anti-inflammatory and super for heart health. I also like adding flax meal to soups and salads—very tasty! |
| 7 |
Make sure you are getting plenty of balanced minerals through dark green leafy vegetables as well as oral supplements. Our body uses minerals in every single body function. We use minerals to transport energy into the cell and to mediate cellular processes. Minerals are also needed to neutralize harmful acids in the bloodstream and if our dietary intake is not adequate to do this, the minerals will be stolen from our bones, resulting in osteoporosis. So make sure you take minerals. |
| 8 |
Use only sea salt in your cooking. Sea salts—the salt of the earth—is filled with trace elements. These are charges elements that are needed for proper cellular function. They enhance the taste of salads and vegetables; they are great meat tenderizers and they are healthy. Unlike table salt, which is likely to cause water retention and raise your blood pressure, sea salts are a much healthier alternative. |
