GIVES YOU THE GOODS ON GETTING GORGEOUS

I hate wearing bras—they are so uncomfortable. Do I have to? —Natalie, Orlando, FL
Well, if you’re interested in non-saggy breasts, then yes, you probably should. Gravity (and pregnancy and breast-feeding, but you knew that) can be a cruel thing on your bod—especially your boobs. As time goes on, the aforementioned factors weaken the connective fibers in your breast tissue, making your formerly perky “girls” less and less so. While there’s no true antidote to the havoc gravity and bearing children will have on your breast tissue’s strength, wearing a bra is the best thing you can do to keep the damage at bay.

All Hosiery Comfort BraFull Coverage Front Closure BraThat said, it is true that bra-wearing isn’t always a pleasant experience. Those awful underwires, straps that dig into your shoulders and the “sausage back” you get when your back flesh squeezes out of a too-tight bra closure are just a few of the reasons why I imagine you’d like to burn yours. Believe it or not, though, truly comfortable, gravity-fighting bras do exist. My favorites are the Bra-llelujah! products from Spanx. The All-Hosiery Comfort Bra features no wires or hooks, yet gives a smooth, sexy back and provides extraordinary comfort. Its soft, wide straps distribute weight evenly and stay where they belong. Really, it’s so comfy, you’ll forget you have it on. The newest product, the Full Coverage Front Closure Bra, has naturally adjusting shoulder and back straps, made from a unique hosiery fabric that automatically conforms to your body like a second skin, banishing VBL (visible bra lines) and minimizing back fat. Its front-closure design eliminates uncomfortable metal hooks and clasps in back, and it features smooth, soft, molded cups that provide uplifting support and coverage. While it does have an underwire, the bra’s unique channel design guarantees that it will never peek or pop through. The bras are $36 and $62 at www.spanx.com.

Can you recommend a good quick-drying nail polish top coat? I always ruin my manicures because I hate waiting for my nails to dry. —Rebecca, Ft. Wayne, IN
My favorites are Essie’s Good to Go! fast-drying top coat, which dries nails in five minutes flat, and To Dry For top coat nail treatment, which not only dries nails fast, but also leaves them super-shiny. These polishes are $10 and $6.99, respectively, at www.amazon.com. If you really want to speed up your drying time, you might want to check out a fast-drying polish, too. I love Sally Hansen’s Color Quick Fast Dry Nail Color Pens, which feature fast-dry polish in a nifty little goof-proof, pen-like applicator. They come in a variety of colors and are $9.49 at www.amazon.com.

The product I’m loving this month:
Perricone MD Cosmeceuticals Age Less Neuropeptide Firming Moisturizer and Eye Area Contour
Perricone Firming Moisturizer When I visited my dermatologist to discuss the not-so-fine lines around my eyes, she recommended these two anti-aging products to me—with one caveat: “They’re expensive, but worth every penny. Remember, it’s an investment in your face.” When I considered how much I spend on shoes and handbags, which I don’t wear every day (unlike my face, of course), I began to consider, and even rationalize, the purchase. She was right—at $280 and $195, respectively, they definitely aren’t bargains. However, when I witnessed how those neuropeptides—cutting-edge anti-aging ingredients that rejuvenate and repair damaged skin cells that cause skin to look aged—plumped and firmed my skin, virtually eradicating all signs of my fine lines, I was so addicted that I’d happily fork over double their asking prices (and heck, even throw in my firstborn) to maintain my supply. Both products are available at www.sephora.com. Perricone Eye Area Contour
