TFG EDITOR-AT-LARGE SAMANTHA CARROLL TAKES A PREGNANT PAUSE
TO GIVE YOU HER MATERNITY MUSTS OF THE MONTH

Editor

If March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, then you’ll need a couple of things to help you fight the beast this month. Ease on into spring with a knowledgeable book of baby gear dos and don’ts, outfits with a built-in pacifier holder (read: no more dropping on dirty floors, washing, and re-inserting—these little onesies come armed and ready!), and a website that gives you the skinny on schools. With all this help, spring will feel like the breath of fresh air you’ve been waiting for all winter!

Consumer Reports Best Baby Products: The A to Z Guide to Everything You Need for Your Baby

With loads of parenting products on the market, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, confused and downright stupefied. Is this crib safe? Has that car seat been recalled recently? What should I look for in a changing table? What kind of toy will stimulate my baby and which can be used for a sleep aid? The questions never stop. They may grow out of the crib and into the toddler bed, but those pesky questions never stop. And oh, by the way—they aren’t limited to babyhood. While I’ve been a fan of Consumer Reports for a long time, I recently stumbled upon their Best Baby Products guidebook, which offers tips for new and, er, experienced parents alike. They offer suggestions on everything from digital cameras to high chairs, helping you learn about what to look for, where to find it, how best to use it, and even why you do or don’t really need it. This objective look at baby gear is helpful not only for the shopper, but for the caregiver who is learning the ins and outs of raising a safe child. Dig in! Find this gem at your local bookstore or by visiting www.amazon.com.
