having the whitest,
brightest smile all
summer long —margarita and

Just the thought of a carefree, warm summer day
can
bring
a smile to your face. Summer isn’t just
synonymous with
strappy sandals and bathing suits, it's also a time when we all want to look and feel
our best. Getting in shape to hit the beach, pool deck or an exotic locale also applies to the state of your
smile. Starting the season off with the whitest and healthiest teeth will not only give you a reason to smile,
it will also accentuate your tan, up your overall appearance and help insure that your long anticipated
vacation isn’t dampened by an emergency trip to the dentist.

Summer Smile Shape-Up Plan |
| |
Schedule an appointment to see your dentist for a check-up (especially if you are planning to travel). |
| |
If you are scheduling a vacation away from home, be sure to have any major dental work completed before departing. Temporary crowns, fillings or bridges that become loose can quickly turn the most idyllic trip into a nightmare. |
| |
Treat yourself to a professional whitening treatment to insure that your teeth are stain free and sparkling. Another alternative would be a safe, efficacious at-home treatment. Whiter, brighter teeth are the first step in enhancing your tan. |
| |
Maintain a good oral care routine. Being on a holiday isn’t a reason to get lazy about brushing or flossing. |
| |
Summer/ Travel Must-Haves: |
| |
Look for oral care and whitening products packaged in smaller airline approved sizes. Reminder: TSA (Transportation Security Administration) rules ban containers exceeding three ounces in size. Single-use powder mouth rinse and other travel-friendly teeth whiteners and breath fresheners breeze through airport checkpoints. |
| |
When traveling to a foreign country use bottled water when brushing your teeth. |
| |
Carry all-natural whitening gum or a handy pocket sized breath freshener for those times when brushing is not convenient. |
| |
To help maintain good oral health, keep your toothbrush in a travel container to help keep it germ free. |
| |
Be prepared for an emergency. Contact your regular dentist for a recommendation in the city or country that you are planning to visit. For the American Dental Association, call 312.440.2500 and for The American Society for Dental Aesthetics call 800.454.ASDA. |
