Nature’s Avenger

We don’t use chemicals on our lawn. We haven’t in years. Does it look Homes & Gardens fabulous? Nope. But I can let my kids play in the grass without feeling freaked out. Really, no one should use chemicals on their lawn. Think about what you are tracking into your home—not to mention what you are doing to your neighborhood and neighbors.

This year, we’re trying Nature’s Avenger Organic Weed Killer. So far, so good. It’s made from a citrus-based oil and can be used on the lawn, sidewalk, driveway, mulch beds, shrubs and flower beds. It’s also pretty fast acting and EPA registered—which means they ain’t buggin’. Speaking of the creepy crawlies, we canned Terminix two years ago, too. No major trouble to report, but if you’ve got a situation, Nature’s Avenger has a bug and insect killer, too.

Green Vibrance

Green Vibrance

Not only do we all need to be more green, but we need to eat more green—and how the heck are you supposed to do that in today’s every-single-solitary-minute-of-every-single-freakin’-day-is-jam-packed-with-something-to-do times? Easy: Scoop yourself up some Green Vibrance. Said to improve everything from energy to immunity to digestion and circulation, one helping of this green dust contains 58 certified-organic concentrated foods and extracts. The taste is so-so, so I usually dump it into my morning protein shake along with some almond milk and a little raw agave nectar. I even add fresh and frozen fruit for some extra impact. Yeah, I am crazy like that. I think I feel better. Some people claim it reduces stress and even has anti-aging effects. I mean, overall I usually feel pretty good, so I can’t say that it’s a panacea, but I can say that it makes me feel like I am doing something to safeguard my health. It makes me feel good about myself, in control and proactive. Cheers to that!

The Monster Is Real

Tundra Fire Extinguishing Spray

Have you ever had to use your fire extinguisher? We have—one Thanksgiving. Egads! Until you use one, you don’t realize how important it is. I mean, you know it’s important, but you don’t truly get it until you use it. So with barbecue season heating up, there’s no time like the present to pick up a Tundra Fire Extinguishing Spray from First Alert (do I sound like an infomercial?). It’s a one-time-use little bitty of a thing (it looks like a hairspray can circa 1989), and it’s perfect for Sunday afternoons when you’re cooking out just for the grill of it. Bonus: The foam is also biodegradable and nontoxic. I hope you never have to use it, but just in case, keep one on hand. Thanks. I feel better now.
