Heather Bock is former city slicker-fashionista and teacher currently loving her latest role as a mother and wife in the
New Jersey suburbs. Here's what she had to say:
“My definition of womanhood has definitely changed. On the one hand, what's more womanly than breastfeeding? My god, the things our bodies can do. I love that I alone am sufficient for the well-being of my child. On the other hand, there is the woman that got me into this role in the first place. I am trying to rediscover her. Now that my baby is seven months old, I have proclaimed my New Year's resolution to be in the words of the utterly adorable (I confess) Justin Timberlake: 'I'm bringing sexy back.' Putting on a non-nursing bra, high heels and some lipstick no doubt makes you feel like a woman—that and the ability to multi-task!” |

Former stay-at-home mom, Leslie Head is the co-founder of Tee Pee for Me (www.teepeeforme.com), making the gotta-have-it-for-my-kid, high style yet so playable tee pees that all the celebs are drooling over. Here's what this Atlanta mom-trepreneur had to say:
“A trip to the spa complete with a manicure, pedicure and several trips to the steam shower. Taking time to get dressed and ready for a nice dinner out, in an outfit with nice shoes (not sneakers), complete with makeup and earrings. Remembering to take care of the woman that gets lost in the role of wife and mother.” |

Terri Korolev is the owner of super hip and oh-so convenient (who has time to put a good gift together nowadays?) Luxe Baby Gifts (www.luxebabygifts.com). Here's what this San Francisco mama had to say:
“Lets' face it, there are many aspects of being a mom that make you feel not so womanly—little beauty sleep, drool stains on your shoulder, unshaven legs, you know the drill. I know some of these might sound mundane, but lately what makes me feel like a woman are pretty simplistic things. Some of them are long, hot, uninterrupted showers, scented candles, buying fresh flowers at the farmer’s market, a day at the spa, chatting with my girlfriends on the phone, going to book club (even if I haven’t finished the book) and going out to a relaxing dinner with my husband. I try to make sure I do something for me at least once a week by doing something that will remind me that I’m a woman and that I deserve a little TLC and a few indulgences, too. Since having my daughter 18 months ago, I don’t have much time for the girly things I used to cherish—but I really don’t mind because I cherish my daughter even more. Plus, I can’t wait to share these girly things with her when she’s old enough to appreciate the great things in life like a good mani/pedi!” |

Former New Yorker, Lauren Topf now lives in Rockville, Maryland with her husband Dan and daughter Samantha. She runs a healthcare public relations consulting
company, Lauren Topf Communications. Here's what this new mom had to say:
“It’s hard to find time to feel like a woman these days. Being a working mom of a 12-month old, I’m constantly pulled in many, many directions. That said, I do try to find those opportunities where I can break away and feel like a woman. For example, last weekend, some girlfriend moms and I left our kids with the dads and went out for drinks. It’s amazing how nice it can feel to take a shower, put on makeup and pull those great boots and designer bag out of the closet for a night out—now that makes me feel like woman! |
