Though technically formulated to treat dryness, rashes and minor skin irritation caused by eczema and atopic dermatitis, it is also a miracle cure for the super-scaly hands cold weather causes. Its balm-like consistency will soothe and moisturize your hands instantly, leaving them soft, not greasy. The smell is definitely medicinal (a little like Vicks VapoRub), but I promise it won’t totally turn you off—especially when you get a hold of your hand makeover. |

Exceptionnel de Chanel Intense Volume and Curl Mascara Naturally, I’m enamored with all beauty products. However, mascara tops my list as my can’t-live-without-it, if-I-were-stuck-on-a-deserted-island-and-could-only-have-one-beauty-product makeup item. I am always trying new ones, forever searching for the one that will give me seriously long, thick, full lashes like a porn star, minus the tacky. This one, my newest favorite, I discovered thanks to the covert suggestion of a Sephora saleswoman. As I was perusing the store’s various mascara offerings, she slid up next to me. “Wanna know the best mascara?” she whispered, slyly. “It’s the new one from Chanel, but you gotta go to Nordstrom to get it.” Lo and behold, she was right. It is unbelievable, in a totally face-transforming way. Why? It has a thick yet completely non-clumpy, non-smeary formula and a really amazing six-sided comb/brush hybrid applicator that really and truly coats, thickens and curls every little last lash. I have gotten so many “Wow, are those your lashes?” comments since I started wearing it, I wouldn’t be surprised if the next one were from an adult video producer. ($28, www.nordstrom.com) |
