That Is The Question

October 29th, 2010

This week’s WAHM Bam, Thank You, Mom tip from WAHM expert Patty Hoffman of I Love 2 Be Home.com reminds us to ask questions:

“Ask questions—lots of questions.

Everybody has something useful to share, even those people with less experience than you have. Whether it’s a fresh take on something or a tried-and-true pearl of wisdom, there’s so boundless knowledge to be gained from just about everyone you know.

So get out there and start asking!”

Background? Check!

September 22nd, 2010

This week’s WAHM Bam Thank You, Mom tip from WAHM expert Patty Hoffman of I Love To Be Home, is short and sweet but ever so crucial to the overall success of your next big thing.

“Before you choose what business opportunity is right for you, you must do your homework. Research is key! Find out as much information as you can about every business venture that you’re considering. Contact the Better Business Bureau, look into online company profiles, reports and even what people are saying on forums (though you’ll have to take that banter with a grain of salt). Talk to other people who are doing what you are considering and get their feedback on the business. The more you know, the better equipped you will be to make the right choices for yourself. Knowledge is power!”

Kick The Creeps to the Curb

September 15th, 2010

WAHM expert Patty Hoffman of I Love To Be Home, a site that helps moms start and run their own at-home businesses, give us her work-at-home-mom tip of the week:

“Keep your priorities.

Identify what your number one, two and three are and stick to them.

If your kids come first, then remember that when other requests for your time creep in—and they will!

Do your best not to deviate because you will not be happy with yourself!

What you value is what matters—and nothing should get in the way of that.”

E is for Effort

September 9th, 2010

This week’s WAHM Bam, Thank You Mom tip from Patty Hoffman of I Love 2 Be Home, a site that helps moms set up their own work from home businesses, talks consistency and effort.

We’ve got to keep this one in mind the next time we’re at the gym (or the next time we forgo the gym to get a little extra work done, even though we promised ourselves we’d take 30 minutes out of the day and do something good for ourselves—uh, but we digress).

“Be consistent. Success (at anything) is less about what you do or how much time you spend doing it. It’s about the consistent effort you give!

Think about raising kids, the consistent effort you put into making sure that they are safe, healthy, happy, smart, kind, competent human beings and apply the same long-term effort to your business.

If you only have one hour a day to devote to an at-home business, but you give that hour all you’ve got, you will still be amazed at the end of a year how far you’ve come.”
